Nature of Work

What Will Work Be Like?
Work will be split up into two categories which are, contracted roadside assistance jobs such as Jump Starts, Lockouts, Fuel Delivery, Tire changes, and any other type of service that the member is covered for. The member does NOT have to pay out of pocket for these types of services unless stated at the time of dispatch.
The other are the services that YOU offer. These are services that the member is NOT covered for and they would need to pay you out of their pocket. Such as Battery installs, Spare Tire delivery, mobile mechanic jobs, battery sales, etc etc.

You will be linked to multiple companies as a preferred partner and will receive work directly to your cell phone. The rep will give you the location, vehicle year/make/model, member's contact number, and service order number. This is what you will use for billing. If you choose to take the job you will then give the rep an ETA. After the job is complete you then submit the service order number online for payment. You will not have to collect any money from the member unless instructed to.
( their service is normally covered in full ).
You may provide an additional service that they are not covered for Such as Battery installation or any other labor/service you may offer but you are not obligated to. Let's say you only offer "soft services" and do not do any towing. You would show up in your service vehicle for a jump start, and try to jump the vehicle but it is a starter issue. The member would then need to be towed or have a mobile mechanic come help out. If you happen to be a mechanic and offer that service then you can then quote them what it would cost for the additional parts and labor. If it is something you cannot help with then the member would need to request a tow. either way, you will still be paid for the jump start even if it was not successful.

After accepting a call you will need to give the member a courtesy call to let them know your ETA. It is also wise to reconfirm that the address given is correct. Once you are on scene, you will perform the service: the majority of calls take about 5 mins of labor. Lastly, you will have the member sign an invoice and you are done. It would be in your best interest to invest in a mobile jump box so you do not have to use your own vehicle's battery. We do offer a package that comes with a jump box, if you already have one then the application package is all you will need. you can find our packages by clicking on the Get Started Now tab or by clicking here.
In some cases, you will attempt the jump start and it will be unsuccessful (starter issue/alternator issue etc.). You will still be paid as long as you attempted the jump start. Sometimes you will unlock a vehicle and the member's battery will be dead as well. In this case, you will make a quick call into the dispatch center and they will add a jump start and you will be paid double for that call. Please navigate to the pay section to view the national average pay for each job completed.

Tire changes may seem like a pain but remember this is light duty work, the member is responsible for having a spare tire and majority are at a residence or a business. If you don't want to change tires on the side of the road, the choice is yours. Once you arrive on scene you will remove the flat tire and then put on the spare. Once the spare is on you are done and you're ready to receive your next call. Fuel deliveries are even easier as the member will only be covered for 2 gallons of fuel (these calls will pay more to cover the cost of the fuel). Once you receive your Application package you will be able to read over all the necessary details that you will need to know before you are hired on as a service provider. Future Industry Outlook

Run Roadside rescued a record-breaking number of drivers in 2024, with more battery, flat tire, and key problems than ever before.
New vehicles are loaded with advanced technology designed to keep drivers and passengers safe and on the road—not in the breakdown lane. A new study found that technology—including maintenance reminders and other safety alerts—hasn’t reduced the number of drivers stranded. Breakdowns are happening more than ever. This suggests that sometimes tech could be part of the problem.
Vehicles today are advanced more than ever, yet are still vulnerable to breakdowns. Sleek, low-profile tires are highly susceptible to damage, electronic keyless ignitions can zap battery life, and despite advanced warning systems, more than half a million drivers ran out of gas last year.
For example, vehicles fewer than five years old experienced a higher proportion of tire and key-related issues than older vehicles, incidents that have increased as automakers have started to eliminate the spare tire and adopt electronic keyless ignitions.
While the highest proportion of battery-related issues were in vehicles between six and 10 years old, newer models with keyless ignition systems caused problems as well. Keyless ignition systems can drain the battery life when keys are stored too close to the vehicle and can lock a driver out of the vehicle while the engine is still running.
4 million drivers were locked out of their vehicles last year.
And even though nearly all new vehicles are equipped with low fuel warning alerts and range estimations, a higher proportion of drivers are using these systems to push the limits between fuel ups.
